They already evolve, and it's not just the names.
When they're given new prefixes they also get new stats.
Playful gets +30 health and -7% dmg
Hearty gets +60 health and -15% dmg
Elder gets NOTHING, and is total crap
Aggressive gets -30 health and +7% dmg
Dire gets -60 health and +15% dmg
there is rumour of a third evolution (beyond hearty and dire) with even higher stats.
Your pet will either turn playful or aggressive at level 11-14. If it is playful, then it will turn hearty at 15-17, if it is aggressive it will turn dire at 15-17. In some rare cases pets simply wont evolve at all, which is the same as being Elder.

omg, He didnt suggested that.
He suggested that you could start with a small Cub at lvl 3 and at lvl 20 he is a Lion, like from a baby pet to a fully grow adoult animal.

most people name their pet so they dont even notice their pet turn dire/hearty so having it change and grow from baby to adult just seems like alot more fun

People get the UW spider because it's a spider Spirit...dumb idea, that would anger a lot of people. Please, learn to use punctuation points.
Meh, anything that adds to my ranger's experience is good;

just add more pets. if you had more choice of thing to capture then you wouldn't have 8 wolves in a ranger party. Though it is fun to see people with the less used animals. I see stalkers/wolves/tigers/bears all the time
phoenix is becoming less and less rare. But seeing some one with a lvl 20 warthog is just nice.
I would like to see the ability to capture almost anything as a pet. If it isnt intelligent (or somewhat) then it should be a pet. devourers would be cool.
the big cows in shing jea would be funny. Of course if you want a pet that never thinks you could always cap the leech players.

They kinda have that, and I think its a dumb idea , I unno why, I just do, no offence. I mean a cub into a lions or tiger? Why wouldnt you just cap a tiger or a lion?
